Electric Power University first began as Hanoi Practical Industry School founded in 1898 by the French. In April 2000, through a decision of the Ministry of Industry, Electrical Engineering School No.1 was re-established and the school operated directly under Electricity of Vietnam (EVN). EVN is the country''s economic group operating in the field of electricity. On 26 October 2001, the Ministry of Education and Training decided to upgrade the Electrical Engineering School No. 1 to Electric Power College. On 19 May 2006, the Prime Minister issued a decision to establish Electric Power University (EPU) formerly the Electric Power College.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION ACTIVITIES

EPU wishes to establish long term cooperation with international institutions and foreign partners on scientific research, education and training both in the region and in the world.
 

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

EPU has made encouraging achievements in science and technology development activities. Notably, most of EPU research activities aim at critical issues in the development process of Vietnam’s power sector
